While doing the Camera angles and shots assignment I was pretty confused on how to distinguish each shot. Me and my partners were confused on how to differentiate a mid shot and a close-up shot. However, after trial and error we ended up understanding our struggles and were able to figure it out.
My partners and I went outside and had fun as we posed pens and pencils to mimick the story of Romeo and Juliet that we had rebranded as Peneo and Pecillete. I felt like it was a very fun experience and that I would love to do something like that again, my partners and I work great as a team and like to split up the work evenly so we can all contribute and I really like that about us.
Throughout the process of completing the camera angles project I learned how to angle a camera and edit a photo to fit the theme I want. I also believe my partners and i learned how to efficiently work as a unit.
Something I would do differently is probably stick to an easier prompt. My partners and I spent a long time deciding what story we were going to create and ended up picking something with lots of emotions that is pretty hard to convey with inanimate objects. If I could do it again I would probably pick an easier idea so we aren't scrambling.
During the Camera Movements project my partners and I were met with some struggle as we weren't sure what to do. However, during the process we each learned how to use a stabilizing camera that one of my partners had brought and it really opened my eyes to the filming process since that was my first time using a camera to film instead of taking pictures.
For the Camera Movements project I had to become and actor which is sort of difficult for me since I am a naturally very happy and smiley person and the role I was play was that of someone evil and mysterious. Which contradicted my personality, yet I believe I got into my role and did well on the project.
Throughout the process I learned how to distinguish different shots and how those shots set a tone for the audience. The theme of our project was sad and scary and our camera movements had to mimics this emotion that we were trying to do. However, something that I would do differently next time is make sure if we had to do shots on different days that we were wearing similar clothes from when we started, because my partners and I had to re-shoot everything due to the fact we were wearing different clothes from when we initially started and if we had picked up where we left off it would have seemed awkward.
